The almond grove
The Avola Almond
There are three varieties of this almond: Pizzuta, Fascionello and Romana.
Considered among the finest in the world, and now recognized as PAT (Italian Traditional Agro-food Products), the Avola almonds are used in the highest quality confectionery and pastry products.
These almonds have excellent organoleptic characteristics since they are high in vitamin E, unsaturated fats, magnesium, calcium and protein.
Harvesting is done by hitting the trees with a stick in the month of August. Once collected and placed in bags, the husks are removed and the almonds are left to dry in the sun.
